Game Recap for 07/11/2008 7:05 PM

With Yuma not playing it was up to the Flyers to clinch the Southern Division title.

And the Flyers performed admireably behind a stellar outing from Bob Cramer who dealt for the complete game seven inning win, striking out seven and walking none to improve to 2-2 on the year.

The Flyers used the bottom of their lineup to finish off the sweep as Travon Jackson and Gabe Mayorga, the eight and nine hitters respectively, both went 2-3 with Mayorga scoring twice and driving in one.

David Bacani picked up a one out double in the first before Jermy Acey stayed hot, doubling into left center to score Bacani.

The Flyers got three runs in the second as Buddy Morales and Travon Jackson were on the corners before Gabe Mayorga singled into center to score Morales. Jackson then scored on a wild pitch before Mayorga was cashed in on a sacrifice fly from David Bacani.

Juan Serrano was first to truly figure out Cramer, but his solo homer in the fifth only cut the lead down to three.

But Orange County was intent on keeping a four run lead as triple crown threat Patrick Breen got that run back with league leading 17th homer to push the lead back to four.

St. George got another run in the sixth after a leadoff double from Ryan Stevenson before a passed ball moved him to third and a ground out to second was able to score him.

Gabe Mayorga led off the sixth with a pop-up back to the pitchers mound, but miscommunication landed Mayorga on second with a double before Okano cashed him in with a single.

Mike Done was charged his second loss of the season lasting five innings but surrendering five runs on six hits while striking out seven.

Friday's double header wrapped up the first half for the RoadRunners while the Flyers still have four games left in their Championship first half.

Despite the odd scheduling, both teams will meet in a double header on Saturday with first pitch at 5:05.
