FLYERS FALL IN SERIES OPENER: 3-10 to Yuma

YUMA, Arizona (June 21, 2010) – The Yuma Scorpions rode the hot arm of Daryl Arreola en route to a 10-3 win over the Orange County Flyers at Desert Sun Stadium on Monday night.
Arreola threw seven strong innings, retiring the first 10 batters he faced and shutting out Orange County through six innings. The Yuma hurler finished the night giving up two runs off five hits to earn his fourth win of the year.
Matt Durkin (1-2) took the loss for Orange County, as the Scorpions dinked and dunked six singles into the outfield off the Flyers starter for six runs in the first inning.
The Flyers offense added too-little, too-late when Jim Goethals knocked a two-run double I the seventh inning to put Orange County on the board, but by the Yuma had already amassed 10 runs.
Orange County (11-13) will send Byung-Hyun Kim to the mound on three days rest to take on Yuma on Tuesday at Desert Sun. The two teams will play the final two games of this four game series at Estadio Revolution in San Luis, Rio Colorado, Mexico on Wednesday and Thursday. All games start at 7:05pm Pacfic.
