CHICO, Calif---The Orange County Flyers finished their season by taking three of four games from the Chico Outlaws, wrapping the four game series up with a 2-0 victory on Monday night to conclude the season at Nettleton Stadium.
The Flyers finish 20-19 on the second half and got the best performance of the year from Adam Johnson who held the Outlaws scoreless for six innings, striking out eight, before turning the game over to the bullpen.
While Outlaw Starter Evan White was equally impressive, tossing a complete game in the loss, the Flyers squeezed two runs out against the right hander in the second. Travis Becktel doubled to start the inning and Damian Jackson walked before Nick Guerra and Robert Fick produced consecutive hits to provide the games only offense.
Mike Koons pitched a scoreless seventh, Jonathon Rouwenhorst a scoreless eighth, and Andre Simpson finished the season with his third save and a scoreless ninth.
The win gives the Flyers their first series victory over the Outlaws in three trips to Chico, although Orange County won two of three games in both series against the Outlaws in Fullerton.
The Flyers finish the season two games under .500, just missing a post-season berth.
