2010 Team Tryouts

FLYERS HOLDING OPEN TRYOUT MARCH 20 FOR 2010 ROSTER
ANAHEIM, Calif. (February 16, 2010) – The Orange County Flyers have announced a date for the team's open tryout. The tryout will be held on March 20 for a chance to be invited to the Flyers’ 2010 training camp in May. The tryout will be held at Concordia University in Irvine, CA.
The Flyers are preparing for their sixth season of professional baseball in Orange County, with home games played at The Station at Goodwin Field on the campus of Cal State Fullerton. New manager Paul Abbott is looking for talented players to help the club return to the playoffs in an attempt to become the Golden Baseball League’s first two-time champion.
“There’s always hidden talent just waiting to be found,” Abbott said. “Maybe it’s a guy who’s been released from affiliated ball, or a former college player who still has what it takes. I think we’ll be able to find a few guys worthy of coming to camp with us.”
Players interested in trying out are encouraged to register early with the Flyers by calling the team office at (714) 526-8326 or visiting the team website: www.OrangeCountyFlyers.com.
Walk-up registration is $125. Registration and check-in will be from 7:30-8:30am on Saturday, March 20 with tryouts beginning at 9am. Participants should be at least 18 years old.
The Flyers’ season begins May 21 at St. George, and the team opens at home on Tuesday, June 15 against the 2009 champion Calgary Vipers in a match up the past two GBL champions.
Tickets for the 2010 season are currently on sale and are available by calling the Flyers office at (714) 526- 8326.
