Sales and Marketing Representatives (Internship) & Game Day Staff (Internship)

If you are an individual seeking the first step in your sports career, here is a tremendous career opportunity for you. The Orange County Flyers have a fantastic opportunity to get started! This is a sales position focused on new season and group tickets to corporate prospects via the phone, face-to-face presentations, and mail. Throughout the program, top performers will have the ability to grow their career within the sports industry. At the end of the season, our goal for each representative is to understand the following:

1.) Revenues for a baseball team

2.) The connection between baseball operations and marketing

3.) Proven sales techniques

4.) Customer service

5.) The importance of professionalism in sports marketing

The Orange County Flyers will hire Sales and Marketing Representatives to be responsible for the following:

Solicit new season and group ticket business by telephone, face to face presentations, and mail.

Service all incoming requests for season and group ticket information.

Opportunity to develop strategies and make business meetings with potential team sponsors/partners. (Ex: Selling game day program ad's or outfield wall signage).

Provide additional support to the ticket and marketing departments when necessary.

Make marketing stops at current OC Flyers partners during the off season for the "Flyer Fanatics" program.

Assist with any community events attending carnivals, grand openings, little leagues, school functions with our mascot/players and other front office members.

Help create new marketing ideas and/or possible ideas for the 2010 season.

Opportunity starts immediately! Those who get here first will get a great shot to jump start their career in professional sports.

Hours of operation are Monday through Friday with openings for those that seek to work mornings, afternoons at the Flyers' front office. Game-day hours will be assigned when the season begins. This is a commission only position. Parking is provided free of charge, and employees will receive four complimentary tickets for each home Flyers game. We will have openings for year-round employment for those that want to continue with a career in professional sports. Although there are no guarantees for full-time employment once the season ends, individuals who excel are considered for future positions.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

• Strong oral communication skills

• Ability to work well within a team environment

• Self motivated, self starter

• Positive attitude and strong work ethic

• Detail-oriented and organized; ability to handle several projects at one time

• Flexibility to work sales and marketing events on some weekends

• Sales and/or telemarketing experience a plus
